Famous Bands

There have been thousands of bands throughout history that can be considered famous. A small percentage of those have became legendary and an important part of our history. In 1962, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison had formed what was likely the most popular and legendary rock band in world history. This was, The Beetles. At the same time, many other bands were emerging and have also became world famous. The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, U2 and Led Zeppelin were also soon to make history and forever be adored by millions of fans.

Aerosmith, AC/DC, Blondie, Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses, The Eagles, Journey, Kiss, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, and Val Halen had made history in the 2 decades that followed the 60's. Although they are all different genres, it is very likely that you have heard a couple songs from each of these bands, whether it be on a world chart, used in a famous movie or television show, the radio, or some other major form of media.

Boy bands made a comeback in the late 1980's with New Kids on the Block. Browsergames Rollenspiel The New Kids grew to be known all over the world. Just like with The Beetles, girls swooned over the boys. The band consisted of 5 members; Jordan and Jonathan Knight (brothers), Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood. The band became legendary, but lasted only from the late eighties until the early nineties. The New Kids have recently made a comeback in 2008, with a new album and series of tours.

While the New Kids on the Block disappeared for almost 15 years, a series of other boy bands have emerged. The Backstreet Boys, and N'Sync were the most popular and idolized world-wide in the mid-late 90's. Girl bands such as The Spice Girls, All Saints, Pussycat Dolls, and Destiny's Child have also emerged and become world-famous in the 90's. Although these bands have both been broken up, and The New Kids are back together, many boy bands have formed and became somewhat famous over time. Other boy bands like Five, 98 Degrees, and 112 were fairly well known, but haven't exactly became legendary. The world's current most popular boy band is The Jonas Brother's, who have become famous thanks to Disney. Girls worldwide love the Jonas Brothers not only for their rockish-pop style of music, but mainly because they maintain images of purity.
